SUPPORT TO AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION

"The electrification of agricultural land will be one of the priorities of Serbian agriculture. In this way, we will reduce production costs, increase the competitiveness of our agricultural products and preserve the environment, "said Zeljko Radosevic, State Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, during a tour of Andrijević family farm in the village Lalinac, Palilula and the promotion of the Draft Strategy of agriculture and Rural Development from 2014 to 2024.
State Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture , Zeljko Radosevic , has started the visit to the city with the tour of Agricultural Extension and professional services of Niš . After discussions with agricultural experts, visit was followed by a tour of the farm of Bojan and Biljana Andrijević, vegetable farmers from the village of Lalinac in Palilula. Those early vegetable crops are grown on the 70 acres under greenhouses and one acre in the open. The biggest problem is they do not have access to low-voltage power grid, and all surfaces must be irrigated using a pump on diesel fuel.
Lalinac village is situated on the territory of municipality of Palilula. This municipality takes care of each farm especially on young people who decided to stay in the country and deal with food production, said the president of this municipality Boban Džunić.
Delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture headed by Secretary of State Radosevic, visited another exemplary agricultural family in village of Cokot. It is a family of Zoran Ilic, who is engaged in fattening beef cattle and vegetable production in warm seedbeds. This is about a household in which there are three generations who have opted for agricultural production. When you visit and see this household, then we are sure that Serbian agriculture has a future, concluded Radosevic.
Draft Strategy for Agriculture and Rural Development of in 2014. to 2024. is a strategic document that spawned team of 240 local and foreign experts. It is undergoing a most extensive public discussion, said Radosevic, at the presentation of the draft of the Strategy that was held in the hall of the University of Nis. On this occasion, in the lobby of the University, there was an exhibition of agricultural and food products Nis, Pirot, Toplica and Zajecar districts.
